2006 St. Supery Virtu - California Meritage blend of 52% Sauvignon Blanc, 48% Semillon. This winery has a pretty stellar lineup and I tend to like everything they produce. This wine is meant for aging with its refined rich luscious style with aromas of nectarines, peach and ripe cantaloupe. On the palate, the mouthwatering flavors of peaches and nectarines are completely filled out with a subtle mineral quality. 2004 Nicholson Ranch Estate Syrah -Syrahs can be monsters when they are young, needing a lot of time to soften and integrate all of those complex flavors. This wine is drinking absolutely beautifully right now with tobacco, leather and dark fruit on the nose. Spices and velvety dark fruit fill the palate which leads to a brambly, earthy finish. Well balanced and delicous, $19.99
